Farewell to Vice-Prefect Du on his Assignment to Sichuan Wang Bo
城闕輔三秦，風孼望五津。
與君離別意，同是宦遊人。
海內存知己，天涯若比鄰。
無為在歧路，兒女共沾巾！
For years these regions have guarded the capitals Just as the winds and mists would five shores cover.
You and I are both government officials, Though now we must say farewell to each other.
But if we truly are friends and soul brothers, O'er long distance we'd still be close like neighbors.
So there should not be any needs or fears At this crossroad, like children, to shed tears!
