這是一幅由英國倫敦傳道會印製的石版畫，背向觀眾的傳教士似乎正在向幾位中國人講解聖經的內容，其中一位身穿官服，頭戴官帽和戴眼鏡的老人家正在聚精會神地翻閱聖經。牆上的維多利亞女皇肖像，正吸引著其他客人的注意。在這幅畫作中，我們看到十九世紀中葉外籍傳教士在廣州的活動情況。
畫家仔細地描繪各人物的面部表情、衣服和各樣物件的肌理。
This lithograph was published by the London Missionary Society. A missionary with his back facing the viewer seems to be explaining the Bible to a few Chinese. An old man in official clothes and hat, wearing spectacles is reading the Bible attentively. On the wall, the portrait of the Queen Victoria attracts the attention of other people of the group. From this picture, we can see the activities of foreign missionaries in Guangzhou in the mid-nineteenth century.
The artist meticulously depicted the facial expression of the figures, their clothes and the texture of different objects.
