水墨絹本立軸（Hanging scroll, ink on silk）
董其昌，字玄宰，號思白、香光居士，華亭（今上海市松江）人。進士出身，官至禮部尚書。山水畫以平淡天真見勝。繪畫注重師法古人，能融會變化，墨色層次豐厚，用筆則以書法入畫。提倡山水畫「南北宗」論，推崇「南宗」為文人畫正派。其畫影響當時畫壇極大，並遠及清初以至近代畫壇。
Dong Qichang was a native of Songjiang in present-day Shanghai. He was a Metropolitan Graduate and subsequently attained the post of Minister of Rites. He was widely acclaimed by his contemporaries, for his simple and tranquil landscapes. Wielding the brushwork of calligraphy in his painting, Dong was also skillful in ink gradation. Dong elaborated the theory of the Southern and Northern schools of landscape painting that exerted tremendous influence on later generations. ■資料：香港藝術館
