當然，藍色也不只是色情的，也是高貴的。英文詞blue blood指有貴族血統或來自上流社會的人，不是科幻小說中說的藍血人。Blue-blooded是形容詞，表示貴族的、上流社會的、精英的。
The ball organised by that club was a blue-blooded event.
那個會社籌辦的這次舞會是上流社會活動。
He is of blue blood origin.
他出生於貴族（上流社會）家庭。
blue moon形容罕見珍貴事情
如果我們說一些人物或事件是千載難逢的，可以用blue moon來形容。藍月亮是天文學用語。同一個月內出現兩次滿月，第二次就叫藍月亮。月光仍然是珍珠白或淡黃色的。據報道，今年6月1日和6月30日都是滿月，6月30日的就是藍月亮。這個現象並不常見，故此用來形容一些罕見的珍貴事情。
