祥龍石圖卷Auspicious Dragon Rock

宋徽宗是歷史上有名的藝術家皇帝。他對欣賞湖石亦有特殊的癖好，喜以湖石點綴御苑，更成立稱為「花石綱」的專門船隊，把江南的奇花異石運往汴京。此圖所繪乃太湖奇石，圖中石峰佔據了整幅畫面的高度，凸顯出石峰孤拔挺立的形態。石峰以精巧遒勁的線條勾廓，將石質的岩巉堅硬表露無遺，陷穴和石面的鱗狀肌理則用濃淡墨色精密地烘染，通體黝黑。石體上的脊隆盤曲有致，與玲瓏的竅穴虛實相輔；其頂部有小池，中植花木，形若虯龍出水，誠如宋徽宗所言「其勢騰湧若虯龍」，因此被認為具有祥瑞的寓意。
When Emperor Huizong began constructing the imperial garden Genyue to the northeast of the capital Bianjing (modern Kaifeng) in 1117, he scoured for rare rocks for decorating his grand garden in the Suzhou and Hangzhou areas and had them transported back to the capital by a dedicated fleet called the Flowers and Rocks Fleet (huashi gang). Occupying the full height of the scroll, the somber rock is sturdily outlined to approximate its jaggedness and gradationally washed to mimic its rough and scaly texture. With a small plant extending from a depression towards the top, the rock resembles a dragon ready to take flight, an auspicious sign in the eyes of the painter. 資料：香港藝術館
