聖誕節快到了，大家打算怎樣慶祝呢？
Mary: Hi Peter, how would you celebrate Christmas?
Peter: I want to go to Tsim Sha Tsui East to see the Christmas lights, but I'm afraid there would be a crush of people.
Mary: Come on, you don't want to stay at home, just watching TV and pigging out on chocolate and chips!
家裡布置或戶外的大型聖誕燈飾均稱為“Christmas lights”(留意“lights”一詞應為複數)，在美國也有稱為“fairy lights”、“twinkle lights”或“holiday lights”。除了燈飾，也可在聖誕樹上掛上不同的裝飾，例如：“We adorn our Christmas tree with baubles, angels, stars and tiny coloured lights.”。“bauble”指小件(尤其是價值不高的)裝飾物。“adorn”和“decorate”均指裝飾，但“adorn”多指令本身已漂亮的事物更出色，“decorate”則指額外裝飾以美化事物。此外，為了更有聖誕節日氣氛，有些人會在門外掛上花環(hang wreaths on front door)。
“pig out”大吃特喝
“crush”用作及物動詞，指壓碎、壓扁，例如“He crushed the can with a finger.”。用作名詞時，可搭配“people”(如上面的例子)或單獨使用，均指擠擁的人群：“He elbowed his way through the crush.”(他用手𤧟推開擠擁的人群走出來)。
