此圖是《1847年4月於珠江的作戰行動》版畫系列的扉頁。這套石版畫記錄了1847年英國強行進入廣州城的軍事過程。
從德己立將軍官邸（旗桿屋）眺望港灣，景致怡人，可見九龍一帶尚未發展。圖左方為美利兵房，有不少軍人在騎馬及活動。畫面右下方一帶現今已變成香港公園。
This is the title page of the series of lithograph entitled Operations in the Canton River, in April, 1847. The series record the British troops' aggressive entry into the City of Canton(Guangzhou) in 1847.
The rear of Major-General D'Aguilar's residence (Flagstaff House) gives a pleasant view of the harbour. Kowloon is largely undeveloped. Murray Barracks on the left, officers are riding and in training. The foreground on the lower left is site of the Hong Kong Park today. ■資料：香港藝術館提供
