(Henan Museum collection)
The Jia is a wine vessel. This coarse grey pottery vessel has a stepped and contracted rim, a contracted waist and three hollow legs with solid conical points. On the side of the waist there is a vertical semi-circular ring. There are three bands of an incised string pattern on the neck. The hollow legs are decorated with a rope pattern. The vessel is similar to the bronze jie of the Shang dynasty.
