我與外籍英語教師合作，於我校推出了「英語一分鐘」計劃(English Time)，在早會時介紹一些有趣的英語用詞給全校學生。每次用很短時間講解一個詞彙，學生反應也不錯，校園內經常遇到很多我沒有教的學生跟我打招呼，叫我做：「English Time」阿Sir！
最近介紹的是與「big」有關的詞彙：Big Apple (紐約的別稱) ，big bucks (很多錢)，big fish (大人物)，big mouth (多言之人)，big time (成功顛峰)。介紹過後，我鼓勵同學用以上詞彙創作一篇小故事，收回來的「大作」可真令我莞爾。
big fish and big mouth
其中一篇這樣說：
My father and I went to the Big Apple . We met our uncle who was a big fish in a large company. He told us he had finally reached the big time and he was earning big bucks. He also told me not to be a big mouth and keep this a secret because if his wife knew, she would take away all his money.
這篇寫人物，幽了老師一默，也甚有趣：
We have a big fish in our school. He told us he used to work in the Big Apple and came back only when the pressure in the big time got to be too much. He also boasted that he spent big bucks that we could never imagine. I don't believe him and I think he really has a big mouth. Do you know who he is ?
