(Bronze figure with headdress,c.1200 BC)
(Collection of Sanxingdui Museum)
Only the upper part of the figure is left. The headdress has erect animal-like ears at the sides, and a decoration in the shape of an elephant trunk in the middle. The form and hand positions are similar to those of the bronze standing figure, with the hands apparently holding an object, possibly a jade cong. Its overall bearing is awesome and enigmatic, probably someone presiding over a sacrificial ceremony.
