漁村小雪圖卷Light Snow over a Fishing Village

王詵是宋英宗時的駙馬，精通琴棋書畫，擅畫寒林雪景。此圖描繪初冬雪後的漁村風光。畫家在畫幅中央巧妙地繪畫了兩株如虯龍的蒼松，將畫面左右分開，左邊山巒寂寂，一望空闊；右邊卻繪畫了各種人物活動；山的另一方，有持杖高士與攜琴童子，正踏雪尋幽。作品的筆墨技法精煉，山巒坡石的濃淡墨色變化豐富；山頂、樹梢敷以白粉，表現積雪；樹杪葦葉描上金線，使本來寒荒的漁村，在雪後陽光照耀下格外明亮。畫家靈活地結合金碧與水墨山水的韻致。
Set in the early winter after snow, the painting distinguishes itself with its sophisticated brushwork and sharp tonal contrasts augmented by the application of white powder to represent snow on mountain tops and tree crowns. The golden touches in the trees and reeds further give the illusion of sunlight gleaming in a fishing village frozen in sheer cold. Thus, the allures of gold-and-green and ink landscapes are combined into one in this masterpiece.
