水墨設色絹本冊頁(Ablum leaf, ink and colour on silk)
南宋 夏圭(Xia Gui, Southern Song dynasty,act. ca. 1180 – ca. 1230)
夏圭是南宋寧宗時的畫院待詔，與馬遠齊名，為最有代表性的南宋院體畫家，後人以「馬一角、夏半邊」，概括他們截景取勢的典型構圖方式。
此圖是夏圭擅長而且喜愛描繪的雪景題材，展現江南地區雪後初霽的風光，畫面佈局繁簡有序：近景石上，兩株蓋滿霜雪的大樹，寒江上一葉扁舟，簑翁獨釣，遠山白雪，一片寒意逼人。然而湖邊的房舍窗戶敞開，屋內二人披衣啜茗，對坐閒談，暖意融融，與屋外恰成強烈對比。畫家以景物的冷，反襯人物的暖；以樹叢房舍的實，比照寒山雪溪的虛，在對比中和諧統一，表現出高超的繪畫造詣。
Xia Gui was a court painter at the Painting Academy during the reign of the Song emperor Ningzong and was one of the Four Masters of Southern Song, the other three being Li Tang, Liu Songnian and Ma Yuan. Since he and Ma Yuan favoured partial views over monumental full views of landscapes, they have often been mentioned in one breath as Ma the Corners and Xia the Halves.
