花香鳥語：普通翠鳥

　身體大致為藍綠色，胸和腹部橙紅色，背至尾部藍色有光澤，十分漂亮。全長約17厘米，牠是香港最細小及最常見的翠鳥。

　牠喜歡生活在近水的地方，因為可方便牠迅速抓取獵物。牠的巢建築在溪畔或池塘的堤岸。首先，牠會挖掘出一條隧道，在隧道的盡頭造巢，並以魚骨作為「巢墊」。在繁殖時，把外形像乒乓球的鳥蛋產在巢中，讓小鳥寶寶有個舒適的地方成長。

　The Common Kingfisher is mainly blue-green,with an orange-red breast and belly.Its back and tail are shiny blue.It is a very beautiful bird,about 17cm long.This is the most common-and the samllest-kingfisher in Hong Kong.

　Common Kingfishers live near water,as they mainly feed by catching fish.They usually nest in holes in stream banks or pond bunds.Firstly ,they dig a tunnel through the soil and then builds their nest at the far end ,using fish bones for cushioning.The eggs look like ping-pong balls.　　資料：漁護署
