韓Sir 英語教師
上英語課時，看到學生專注力開始退減，有打呵欠、眼蓋下垂、眼神呆滯等「徵狀」時，我便會暫停一會，讓他們歇歇，喝點水、到洗手間打個轉，或只是離開座位走動一下，待大家抖擻精神後，再續教與學活動。
有時候要把枯燥乏味的課程暫且放下，說說笑話、故事，或加插一些趣味英語，大伙兒樂一樂，寓娛樂於學習。
“ Teachers – Jokes, Quotes and Anecdotes”
推介給大家一本有用的另類教材：“ Teachers – Jokes, Quotes and Anecdotes”, Patrick Regan (ed.), Andrew McMeel Publishing,2001. 書內有精警的引述和充滿智慧的睿語，最有趣的是那些有關教育和課堂教學的小故事和笑話，現在摘錄數則，逗大家笑笑。
(1)Teacher : (answering the telephone) “ You say Billy Smith has a bad cold and can't come to school ? Who is this speaking ?”Voice : (with assumed hoarseness) “ This is my father.”
教師接聽來電，說：「您說陳小明今天患上大傷風不能上學？請問您是誰？」
電話傳來假裝低沉的聲音：「這是我爸爸」。
爺爺還做了絕育手術(sterile)
(2)A young third-grade girl came to school one morning all excited. She explained that things were really different at their house now because her grandfather had come to live with them. Then she said, “ And he's sterile, you know !” The teacher thought for a moment and then replied, “ you mean senile, don't you ?” The child replied, “That too.”
一天早上，三年班的小玲把爺爺搬到家裡住帶來的種種變化非常雀躍地告訴張老師。然後她說：「爺爺還做了絕育手術(sterile) 呢！」張老師想了一想，說：「你是指年老(senile) 吧？」小玲回應：「這個也對啊！」
(3)“ The teacher said I must learn to write more legibly,” the kid told his mother, “ but if I do, she'll find out I can't spell.”
「老師說我的字寫得太潦草，叫我寫得清楚些……」小明告訴母親。「但是，如果我寫清楚了，她便會發現我不懂串字了！」
學習英語，多讀多寫多聽多講是不二法門，學校的課程雖然有硬性的現定，但是在教與學的過程中，若能掌握機會，在適當時候加插一點雖然偏離課程但一樣能增加學習效能的素材，可能更能提高學生的學習興趣和動機。
