木乃伊女子肖像畫 Mummy portrait

這件椴木畫板是用蠟畫法創作的一幅女性木乃伊肖像，佩戴金珠耳環和新月項鍊。她穿著紫紅色外衣，和鑲金邊黑條紋的斗篷。她的髮式、珠寶和服裝屬於羅馬皇帝尼祿（54 – 68年）統治時期。她的臉有很強的立體感，給人一種真實、堅毅的印象。整體看來，黑色大眼睛是許多肖像畫具有的典型特徵，可以增強人像的說服力。
This limewood panel bears an encaustic mummy-portrait of a woman who wears gold ball earrings and crescent pendant. She has a mauve tunic and mantle with a black stripe edged with gold. Her hair, jewellery and the drapery suggest a date in the reign of Nero (AD 54 – 68). Her face is strongly modelled, giving a lively and rather forceful impression. The large dark eyes are characteristic of many of the portraits as a whole, and add to the evocative force of the image. ■資料：香港藝術館
