On January 26, 1841 British Navy landed on this small hill between Queen's Road West and Hollywood Road, where they raised the first Union Jack. This hill named Possession Point.
On May of the same year, a Hong Kong Dispensary(later, became "Watsons")established here.
In 1890 and 1932, the Government re-developed this place twice, turned the Possession Point into a Public Square for recreation. Numerous shops for fortune teller, barber and photographer were opened here.
