Atlas Moth
¡E This is the largest moth in Hong Kong with a huge wingspan.
¡E The Atlas Moth is huge, with a wingspan of up to about 25cm. The colour is mostly brown, and there is a slightly transparent triangular patch in the middle of each of the moth's four wings. The protruding tip of each forewing looks like a snake's head.
¡E Atlas Moths live in woodlands, and are active at night. Like many other moths, they are attracted by light.
¡E The body of Atlas Moth's larva is covered by white waxy powder, with long fleshy spines-which makes them scary! They are usually found on Tallow-tree and Ivy Tree, their foodplants. ¡@¡½¸ê®Æ¡Gº®Å@¸p
