• 牠是香港最大的蛾。
• 整體以褐色為主，外形巨大，展翅時翼寬可達25厘米；每隻翅膀中間都有塊略為透明的三角形斑紋；前翅翅端看起來像「蛇頭」。
• 牠棲息在樹林內，多數在晚間出來活動，喜歡在光源附近徘徊或停留。
• 幼蟲表面覆蓋著像蠟燭碎屑的白色粉末，並長有一些肉刺，外貌嚇人，使你不敢觸摸。牠們多數寄居在烏木臼和鴨腳木上，以便「進餐」。
Atlas Moth
• This is the largest moth in Hong Kong with a huge wingspan.
• The Atlas Moth is huge, with a wingspan of up to about 25cm. The colour is mostly brown, and there is a slightly transparent triangular patch in the middle of each of the moth's four wings. The protruding tip of each forewing looks like a snake's head.
• Atlas Moths live in woodlands, and are active at night. Like many other moths, they are attracted by light.
• The body of Atlas Moth's larva is covered by white waxy powder, with long fleshy spines-which makes them scary! They are usually found on Tallow-tree and Ivy Tree, their foodplants. ■資料：漁護署
