約1960年的上海街
開闢於1860年代,直至1909年,其名稱為差館街,因有一警署設於榕樹頭廣場前。
這一段是由南京街向北望,兩旁皆為古舊唐樓,散佈著無數的衣裳竹及稱為萬國旗的晾曬衣物。
街旁的商店,所經營的生意,包括傢俬、書籍、鐘表、磁器、麵包、找換和金飾等。
Shanghai Street, c.1960
Shanghai Street was constructed in 1860s. Until 1909, its name was Station Street, due to a police station situated in front of the Yung Shue Tau Square.
Looking north to the street from Nanking Street, the bamboo poles with hanging clothes stretching out from the old tenement buildings are called "flags of all the nations".
Shops in Shanghai Street including the business of furniture, book, watch, porcelain, bread, money exchange etc., and also many goldsmith shops.
