廿一世紀醫學昌明的社會，醫生的專門化也益發精細。在英語世界內，各種專科醫生都有特別稱謂，看看您能否找出下列醫生的工作是在那一項專門的範疇：
詞根 (roots) 教您認字
十五位專科醫生的英文稱謂其實都與詞根 (root) 有關：
1. Allergist 的詞根 “aller” 解作其他，意指某些人對「其他」物件易引起敏感。
2. Anesthesiologist 的詞根 “anesthe”指沒有感覺，故是麻醉師。
3. Cardiologist的詞根 “cardio”是心臟，故是心臟病專家。
4. Dermatologist的詞根 “derma” 是皮膚，故是皮膚病專家。
5. Endocrinologist的詞根 “endo” 指內裡，所以是內科專家。
6. Gynaecologist的詞根 “gynae” 指女人，所以是婦科專家。
7. Neurologist的詞根 “neuro”指神經，故是神經學專家。
8. Obstetrician的詞根 “obste” 意指 “stand by”「隨時候命」，所以是產科專家，照顧產婦懷孕至生產的過程，一定要 “stand by”！
9. Oncologist的詞根 “onco”指腫瘤，所以是癌病專家。
10. Opthalmologist的詞根 “ opthalmo” 是眼睛，一定是眼科專家。
11. Otolaryngologist的詞根 “oto” 是耳、 “laryngo”是喉，所以是耳鼻喉專家。
12. Pediatrician的詞根 “pedia” 是小孩，所以是兒科專家。
13. Psychiatrist的詞根 “psych” 是心智，故是心理治療師。
14. Radiologist的詞根 “radio” 是輻射能源，所以是輻射治療師。
15. Urologist的詞根 “uro”即 “urine”，是尿液，故是泌尿科專家。
