The bronze horse is made up of 11 separate parts, including the head, ears, neck, torso, tail and four legs. All the different parts are fitted into one another. The horse's head is raised with two upright ears, and its tail curves upwards. The left forelimb is raised and its neighing mouth is open to reveal bared teeth. The chariot is divided into three main parts: the harness, wheels and axle, and chariot box and roof. The harness includes the yoke, yoke saddles and curved draught pole. The chariot is made up of more than 260 parts, which held together very well when they were reconstructed after excavation, a fact that attests the high level of craftsmanship involved in the casting of this piece.
