廣深港高速鐵路位於石壁的新廣州站預期明年開通,此將打通珠三角的高鐵骨幹網絡,連接區內大小城市的城際客運專線。新廣州站將成為亞洲最大的火車站、超級交通樞紐,而港鐵將斥資10億至20億元,在首階段購入9架「和諧號」高速列車配合。但目前廣深港高鐵香港段的工程起步較內地緩慢,部分學者警告,香港段工程刻不容緩,若再決而不行勢將被邊緣化,動搖香港作為中國對外貿易橋樑的地位。
新廣州站處於廣佛都市圈中心,距離廣州及佛山市中心僅15公里。新廣州站設有28個月台、14條鐵路接入線,車站佔地15公頃,相當於香港維園的面積,總建築樓面達60萬平方米,是亞洲最大的火車站。新廣州站接連武廣、貴廣及南廣客運專線的3條高鐵網,亦接連佛山、番禺及東莞的3條地鐵線,以及1條前往珠海的輕軌鐵路,並形成「四縱四橫」的布局,「縱向」是北京到上海、北京至深圳、北京至大連、上海至深圳;「橫向」是徐州到蘭州、杭州至昆明、青島至太原、南京至成都。
高鐵廣深段工程如火如荼,香港段亦計劃於今年底動工,以配合2015年的通車目標。港鐵總經理(高速鐵路)羅普慶日前與傳媒參觀石壁地盤時稱,數月前已就香港段工程招標,待立法會財務委員會批准撥款後,便可與中標承辦商簽約,立即為西九龍地底總站開展工程,並在米埔開挖豎井,以便日後裝設隧道鑽挖機向南發掘,其他工程項目將會逐步招標。
No More Delay for Express Rail Link Hong Kong Section
The New Guangzhou Station in Shibi for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link is expected to come into operation next year. By then, a network of high-speed main line railways will be created to form an intercity passenger web connecting various large and small cities in the Pearl River Delta region. The New Guangzhou Station will be the largest railway station in Asia and a mega hub of transportation. As a first phase investment, the MTR Corporation of Hong Kong will spend one to two billion Hong Kong dollars on purchasing 9 Harmony high-speed trains to cope with the development. However, the construction work of the Hong Kong section has currently fallen behind with the progress of other sections on the mainland. It cannot be delayed any further; warns a scholar, if the project cannot go ahead as planned, Hong Kong will be marginalized and its position as a gateway for China's foreign trade will be undermined.
The New Guangzhou Station, situated in the centre of the Guangzhou-Foshan metropolitan area, is only 15 kilometers from the city centre of Guangzhou as well as Foshan. The station will house 28 platforms and 14 rail access lines. It occupies 15 hectares of land, approximately the size of the Victoria Park in Hong Kong. With a total floor area of 600,000 square metres, it will be the largest railway station in Asia. The New Guangzhou Station will connect 3 high-speed passenger railway lines, namely the Wuhan-Guangzhou, Guizhou-Guangzhou and Nanjing-Guangzhou railway. It will also link the 3 separate metro networks in Foshan, Panyu and Dongguan and one light rail to Zhuhai. This forms a four-vertical and four-horizontal railway network, the vertical lines being Beijing to Shanghai, Beijing to Shenzhen, Beijing to Dalian and Shanghai to Shenzhen, and the horizontal lines Xuzhou to Lanzhou, Hanzhou to Kunming, Qingdao to Taiyuan and Nanjing to Chengdu.
As the construction of the high-speed Guangzhou to Shenzhen section is underway in full swing, the work of the Hong Kong section is scheduled to commence by the end of this year to meet the target of operating the rail in 2015. Earlier in a visit to the Shibi site with members of the media, Paul Lo Po-hing, General Manager(Express Rail Link)of the MTR Corporation, said the corporation had invited tenders for the construction of the Hong Kong section a few months ago and a contract will be signed with the winning bidder once the Finance Committee of the LegCo approves the appropriation of fund. The work of the West Kowloon underground terminus will commence right after and a shaft will be excavated in Mai Po to make room for the installation of a tunnel boring machine which is to be used in south-bound tunnelling works, he added. Tenders for other project works will also be invited in stages thereafter. ■translation by 開明
