Infinitive(原形動詞) 的結構是 to + verb，舉例如下：
1. I want to go.
2. He likes to read.
但是某些動詞後是必須省略了 “to”，我們稱之為 bare infinitive ，或是infinitive without to，舉例如下：
1. I saw him go.
2. He made me read.
用這種句子結構的動詞不多，比較常見的有see， watch， hear ，feel ，make和let。試看看下列舉例：
