現今飲食文化流行，可以講一下taste。眾所周知，taste解作味道，甜酸苦辣鹹。
This pizza has a strong taste of onion.
這個意式薄餅有很濃的洋蔥味道。
披頭四樂隊有一首歌叫做《A taste of honey》（蜜糖的味道）
“A taste of honey, tasting much sweeter than wine.”
「蜜糖的味道，比餐酒甜得多。」
這個字也可以作動詞用。
The steak tasted like plastic.
那塊牛排味道像塑膠一樣。
She tasted the wine and thought that it went well with steak.
她嚐了嚐餐酒的味道，覺得配牛排最好。
可衍生出tasty和tasteless
由taste一字可以衍生出tasty和tasteless。Tasty指食物味道很好。
After a day of hard work, she will usually enjoy a tasty meal.
辛勞工作一天後，她都會享受一頓美食。
有一點必須注意，tasty一字通常不會用來形容甜食。如果說一些甜食美味，會用delicious一字。
She makes very delicious strawberry sundae.
她會做出很美味的草莓新地。
如果說食物淡而無味，可以用tasteless。
The noodle they served was cold and tasteless.
他們供應的麵食冷而無味。
亦形容品味格調
其實除了用來形容食物外，taste一字亦形容品味、格調。
She has a unique taste in clothes.
她對衣著有一套獨特的品味。
It is bad taste to make fun of other people's misfortune.拿別人的不幸開玩笑是低級趣味。
形容一些事物很有格調、很有品味，可以用tasteful一字。
The diamond ring is tasteful in design and is of course very expensive.
這枚鑽石指環在設計上很有品味，價錢自然也相當昂貴。
請注意 distasteful 並不是tasteful的反義詞，如果形容事物沒有品味、格調低，應該用tasteless，不要使用distasteful。先說tasteless。
The necklace is rather tasteless and does not deserve the price.這個項鏈品味很差，不值得這個價錢。
至於distasteful，這個字是形容一些令人反感、卑劣的事物。
Disseminating indecent photographs on the internet is a distasteful act.
在互聯網上發布不雅照片是卑劣的行徑。
Tasty, tasteless, tasteful, distasteful 各有含意。
Taste一字也可用來形容經歷。
She had had a taste of fame and fortune. She could not live the life of an ordinary people again.
她嘗過了名與利，不能再過平常人的生活了。
所以taste 不單指食物味道，也是品味和人生經歷。
