葉子上有種特別的器官——鹽腺，把體內過多的鹽份排出，所以葉子上布滿白色一粒粒的是鹽，而不是霜。
老鼠勒是一種常見的紅樹，普遍只有1至2米高。生長於紅樹林的邊綠地帶。它最明顯的辨認特徵，就是它那光亮的葉子。葉的邊緣呈大鋸齒狀，而且質地堅硬，稍不留神或隨意觸摸，就可能被它弄傷，所以切記小心。嫩葉的邊緣是平滑的，但葉子成熟後，葉邊就呈鋸齒狀了。
它的花朵真值得一看，白中帶紫，清雅脫俗。在1月至5月是開花期，大家記得要留意啊！
Spiny Bears Breech
The leaves have special structure, salt glands, which can excrete excess salt from the plant body. The white granules are the excreted salt crystals.
Spiny Bears Breech is a common mangrove about 1-2 m tall, and grows along the edges of mangrove forests. The most distinctive feature of Spiny Bears Breech is its shiny leaf. Immature leaves are smooth, but the mature leaves have sharp, hard teeth which can cut your hand.
