Piggy banks" (also called savings boxes)of Chartered Bank
Early 1960s
In order to attract depositors, banks in Hong Kong launched promotional campaigns to encourage saving, and parents became a particularly suitable target of these campaigns. Beautifully designed piggy banks acted as a reminder for parents to open bank accounts for their children, and they served both to save money and to decorate the home. Displayed here are piggy banks of Chartered Bank.
