•辨認要訣：a.藍藍綠綠的身軀，閃出金屬般的光澤；b.前翅有6點明顯的米色斑紋；c.觸角像一條有節的長鞭子。
•成蟲喜歡白天在林蔭下的小路上及水塘附近的空地活動；幼蟲則在泥地裡挖隧道而居，在洞口靜待獵物。成蟲和幼蟲都以小昆蟲為食。成蟲以迅速的動作捕捉獵物，並以發達的口器嚼食。幼蟲也厲害，一旦在洞口發現獵物，就立即把牠一口咬緊，然後拖入洞中細細品嚐。
Blue Spotted Tiger Beetle
•As its name suggests,the Blue Spotted Tiger Beetle has a blue and green body that glows with a metallic sheen.There are six distinct cream-coloured patches on the forewings.The antennae are long and segmented.
•The adults are active in daytime,seeking food along forest paths and open areas near reservoirs.Its larvae dwell in the soil and wait for their prey.Both the adults and larvae feed on small insects.The adults catch their prey in swift movements and chew them with their well-developed mouths.By contrast,the larvae wait quietly just inside their burrows,seizing any prey that crosses-before dragging it down into their burrow with powerful jaws. ■資料：漁護署
