左方的屋宇現為永隆銀行。其右方有一名為清風樓的日本旅店。隔了一條砵甸乍街，亦是由一日人經營的東京酒店。
最高的建築物為將落成的消防局大廈，現時為恒生銀行，其右方為華人的旅館和商住區。
位於砵甸乍街口，有一座著名的石碼頭。而在消防局前則有一油麻地碼頭和消防局碼頭。兩者於1933年改建為統一碼頭。現時則為中環機鐵站。
Connaught Road Central, 1926
The building on the left side is the Wing Lung Bank today. On its right side was Ching Fung House where a Japanese Hotel situated. And another Japanese hotel — Tokyo Hotel was in Pottinger Street nearby.
The Fire Brigade Building which had not been completed yet during that time was the tallest building afterward.Nowadays,it's the location of Hang Seng Bank. Around it was the area of Chinese hotels, firms and residences.
In front of Pottinger Street was the famous Stone Pier.And in front of the Fire Brigade Building there were two piers. In 1933,both two piers were rebuilt into a United Pier, where the Airport Railway Station is situated today. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館名譽顧問
