黃泥涌村位於跑馬地區，開闢於1841年之前，有屋240間，居民千多人。
村的後方為漱芳花園，左方為遊樂場的樟園和愉園，愉園於1922年改作養和醫院。
1920年代，跑馬地被發展為高尚住宅區，黃泥涌村周遭的土地，亦被富人所收購。
到了1930年，政府發展黃泥涌村，並在此開闢了包括山村道、山光道、奕蔭街、毓秀街等多條街道。

It was located in Happy Valley. It had been developed since 1841 and there were 240 cottages and more than 1,000 residents.
There was a garden behind the village. On its left, there were Cheung Yuen and Yue Yuen Amusement Parks. Yue Yuen changed to the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital in 1922.
From the 1920s, Happy Valley has become a residential area of high class since the rich people purchased the land around the village.
In 1930, the Government developed Wong Nai Chung Village, many roads including Village Road, Shan Kwong Road, Yik Yum Street and Yuk Sau Street were constructed.
