——作文常見錯誤大曝光三之一

　筆者作為一個英文作文公開試的閱卷員（marker），有時發現學生常用一些sample essays去應付考試。其實考評局早已在marker's report中再三提醒考生不要用那些stock phrases。很可惜的是，有時候補習老師照教，同學並沒有加以注意。以下列了一些由A-level年代已「ban」（禁用）phrases，希望可以對同學有所幫助。

　Stock phrases包括：

　Student are the pillars of future society　學生是未來社會的棟樑

　Be that as it may, ...　無論如何

　Every coin has two sides　甚麼事也有兩面

　In a nutshell, ...　總而言之

　All in all, ...　總括來說

　It is crystal clear that ...　這是很清楚

　There is no denying that ...　無可否認

　By the same token, ...　同樣地

　It goes without saying, ...　不用說

　Gone are the days when ...　過去了的日子/從前

　Let bygone be bygone ...　就讓過去成為過去

　除此以外，同學們在作文時經常犯的錯誤也在marker's report中有所提及。這除了提醒同學們要注意那些錯誤外，亦希望markers特別注意有沒有犯類似的問題，提醒學生避免一錯再錯。以下是經常錯的word（s）or phrase（s）：
