•它是一種常見的紅樹，大多數不超過4米高。生長在濕潤的泥灘上，所以一般在紅樹林的近海邊緣找到它們。
•在惡劣環境中生長的生物，都各自有適應的方法。當桐花樹體內的鹽份積聚過多時，它的根部有一種特別功能，可阻止鹽份滲入。
•它又能把過多的鹽份一粒粒的結在葉上，當落葉時，便可一併排走。
•為什麼桐花樹周圍的地面上，長了一個個半圓拱形的彎節呢？那些都是幫助桐花樹呼吸的呼吸根。而彎節表面上滿佈的小孔，則用作氣體交換。

•This common mangrove seldom grows over 4 m in height.It grows on wet mudflats,at the seaward side of mangrove forests.
•Growing in extreme environments,different organisms evolve different adaptations to meet the conditions.When excess salts are accumulated inside this plant's body,its roots resist further salt absorption.This mangrove can crystallize excess salts on its leaf surface.When the leaves fall,the salts are released and carried away.
•It has many curved roots on the ground surface.These aerial roots have countless tiny holes on their surface,which assist with gaseous exchange. ■資料：漁護署
