由深水步北河街望向旺角。
大埔道開闢於1899年，於1903年完成。早期為通往新界的主要幹道。
這一段連接彌敦道的大埔道為深水步最繁盛的馬路，荼樓、酒樓及食肆林立，包括著名的榮華及泉章居，還有一間金行周生生，現時已成為名店。
這一帶還有兩間戲院，分別為1930及1940年代建於北河街的北河及大埔道的皇宮。

Tai Po Road had bean constructed from 1899 and completed in 1903, was the main route to New Territories.
This section which is adjacent to Nathan Road,is the most prosperous of Sham Shui Po. Beside tea houses, restaurants and eateries, there are some famous goldsmith companies.
Two theatres, including Pei Ho in Pei Ho Street and Palace in Tai Po Road, were built in 1930-1940s. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館名譽顧問
