相信讀者也聽過「人生如舞台」這個比喻吧！原來這句也是莎翁名句之一，出自莎翁名劇《如你所願》"As You Like It"，是劇中人 Jaques 的一段獨白：
"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players……"
世界是一個舞台，所有男男女女只不過是演員……
"They have their exits and entrances ; And one man in his time plays many parts……"
大家都有出場離場的時刻，而每一個人一生裡都扮演著很多角色……
莎士比亞於這段獨白描述了人生的7個階段，試看看您能否認出每一個角色：
At first the _______ ,mewling and puking in the nurse's arms…….
And then the whining ________, with his satchel and shining morning face……
And then the _______, sighing like furnace……
Then a ______, full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard……

由呱呱墜地至人生終點各階段，都在這獨白裡呈現，訴說著所有人的故事，難怪千秋傳誦，成為最受歡迎、最多人引用的莎翁名句之一。
All's well that ends well
與"As You Like It"同屬喜劇的"All's Well That Ends Well"(中譯皆大歡喜)，也是莎士比亞眾多著作中人所樂道的劇作之一。 "All's well that ends well"意思是到最後皆大歡喜，其他事都可置之腦後！
莎翁用了這句台詞作為劇名，在劇中由女主角Helena道出：
"Yet I pray you ;
But with the word the time will bring on summer,
When briers shall have leaves and thorns,
And be as sweet as sharp. We must away ;
As our wagon is prepared, and time revives us,
All's well that ends well; still the fine's the crown,
Whate'er the course, the end is the renown."
人生有起有伏，春去夏至，野玫瑰必長出葉和刺，迷人亦刺人。朋友，快上車，管它荊棘滿途！只要大團圓結局，皆大歡喜！
