左方為落成於1924年的第一代皇后戲院,於1958年拆卸重建,現時又再度拆卸。
正中為同於1924年建成的華人行,內有多間著名食肆,1969年曾設一「遠東(證券)交易所」,約於1980年重建為怡安華人行。
右方為落成於1931年的第一代娛樂戲院,內有多間食廳和舞廳,其冷氣設備為香港的始創。所在地現時為娛樂行。
Queen's Road Central, c.1932
On the left is the Queen's Theatre (1st generation). It was opened in 1924 and demolished in 1958. Nowadays, the Queen's Theatre (2nd generation)was closed and demolished last year.
In the middle is the China Building. It was also completed in 1924. There were several famous eateries in the building. A "Far-east(stock)Exchange" was established here in 1969. The China Building was demolished and built the Aon China Building in the 1980s.
On the right is the King's Theatre (1st generation). It was the first theatre with air-conditioning. There were restaurants and ballrooms inside. The theatre was replaced by the Entertainment Building in the 1990s. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館名譽顧問
