圖左為正在拆卸於1926年1月1日遭大火焚毀的香港大酒店。1930年代初，原址被興建成告羅士打行。1975年，該處再度拆卸興建成置地廣場。
圖右的地段原為第二代的郵政總局，其於1924年改建為華人行及畢打行。
圖中為落成於1924年的亞細亞行，曾於1950年代末重建，現為中匯大廈。

Looking from Des Voeux Road in Central.
On the left, there was the Hong Kong Hotel which was being demolished. The hotel was destroyed by a big fire in 1st January 1926. The Gloucester House was built on the site in the early 1930s. And it was demolished again in 1975 to construct the Landmark.
The second generation of the General Post Office was located on the right. It was rebuilt to the China Building and Pedder Building in 1924.
The Asia House in the middle was completed in 1924. It had been rebuilt in the late 1950s. It becomes the Central Tower nowadays. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館榮譽顧問
