Pull together就是把多個東西拉在一起，故此可以指很多人團結一起，同心協力，以達到目的。

Pull together多與反身代詞連用
此外，pull together亦可解一個人在混亂期間保持鎮定，沒有崩潰，多與反身代名詞(reflexive pronoun)一同使用，例如myself和himself等。

Fall apart指人意志崩潰
至於fall apart，看字面就不難想像與pull together剛剛相反，這是說一個人意志崩潰，不能正常處事。

此外，fall apart亦可用於說事件崩潰，即失敗，不能再繼續下去。
