齊學寫作技巧之一
英國人在寫作時經常用到Double。說起double，很多人會以為這是一種艱深的寫作技巧。其實，只要看一看以下幾個例子，說不定你會發現，自己也曾在寫作時用過呢。
例如 "Let's go to the park arm in arm!" 一句中的 "arm in arm"（手挽手），就是用了double。Double除可表達字面的意思外，更營造了rhyming（押韻）的效果，使得文章更易朗朗上口。由於double可提供visual images（視覺影像），即使文中沒有說明有多少人，也可讓人在腦海中浮現（visualize）兩人手挽手同行的親密畫面。雖然單看這句，並無講到有幾多個人物或人物之間的關係，但是我們可從 ''arm in arm'' 估到，一定是兩個人，而且他們的關係一定頗為密切，才會手挽手起來。這些就是用double的絕招。簡單三五個字，就能讓你有很多不同的聯想，言簡意精！
