2016年10月,中國啟動神舟十一號載人飛船與天宮二號空間實驗室的自動交會對接試驗,吸引了全球的高度關注。長飛作為中國的光纖光纜廠商,通過自主研發,率先實現熊貓型保偏光纖的國產化,並已多年服務於中國的航空航天、國防、航海、工業等領域。據悉,在已經公開的中國航天項目中,「天宮一號」、「嫦娥一號」、「神舟七號」、「神舟八號」以及「神舟九號」中光纖陀螺所使用的保偏光纖均是由長飛公司提供,幫助「神箭」創造了100%成功率的奇跡。

In October 2016, China launched the automatic rendezvous and docking test of Shenzhou No. 11 manned spacecraft and the Tiangong II space laboratory, which attracted global attention. As a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable in China, YOFC has taken the lead in realizing localization of Panda-type polarization maintaining fiber through its own independent research and development. YOFC has been serving Chinese aerospace, defense, marine and industrial fields for many years. It is reported that in the Chinese space program, YOFC provided the Polarization maintaining fiber used in fiber optic gyro that are used in "Tiangong-1", "Chang-E-1", "Shenzhou VII", "Shenzhou VIII" and "Shenzhou IX", help the "arrows" to create a miracle of 100% success rate.

長飛在技術創新領域一直走在行業前列,每年在研發上投入達到營收佔比的5%,強大的技術研發能力使得長飛有機會服務中國大量高精尖項目。公司創立初期,從國外引進PVCD工藝生產預製棒,通過消化吸收再創新後,長飛全面掌握該工藝;此後,公司通過與日本信越簽訂預製棒合資項目協議,引進OVD工藝;公司自主研發的VAD已開始生產交付,自主研發的OVD試驗平台也開始試驗運行,使公司成為全世界唯一同時擁有三種工藝、三種技術的預製棒生產企業。

YOFC is the leader in the field of technological innovation and its investment in research and development (R&D) each year accounted for 5% of revenue. The strong R&D capability helps YOFC have the opportunity to service a lot of high-tech projects in China. In the initial stage, YOFC introduced the technology PVCD from abroad to produce preform, then fully grasp the process after digestion and absorption and re-innovation. Since then, the company introduced the technology OVD after signed a joint venture agreement with the Japanese Shin-Etsu. Now the VAD technology independently researched and developed by YOFC has begun production delivery, and the OVD test platform also began to run the test. Now YOFC is the only company mastering the manufacturing technologies of PCVD, OVD and VAD preforms in the world.

2015年3月,長飛在美國OFC大會期間,面向全球正式發佈了性能大幅提升的「遠貝超強」超低損耗大有效面積單模光纖,成內地首家、全球第三家擁有大有效面積超低損耗光纖產品的廠商。長飛與中國聯通展開合作試點,攜手實現了G.654.E 400G光纖主幹網的試點。總裁莊丹表示,雖然目前該400G光纖主幹網的試驗長度僅在1,000芯公里左右,但意義重大,長飛在PCVD工藝預製棒方面的優勢將讓長飛在未來佔據市場先機,400G大有效面積低衰減光纖在全球主幹網絡未來的改造升級方面將有廣闊前景。目前G.654光纖解決方案已經用於中國聯通哈密-巴裡坤和濟南-青島幹線建設,即將用於中國移動北京-南京幹線建設。

In March 2015, YOFC officially released the significantly improved "far shellfish super" ultra low loss single-mode fiber during the OFC conference in the US, becoming the first of mainland, third of the world's large effective area of ultra low loss fiber products manufacturers. YOFC launched a joint pilot with China Unicom, together to achieve the pilot of G.654.E 400G fiber backbone network. President Zhuang Dan said that, although the test length of the 400G optical fiber backbone network is only about 1,000 core km, it's significant. Because the advantages of YOFC in PCVD process preform will allow YOFC to occupy the opportunities of the market in the future, 400G big effective area of low attenuation optical fiber may have broad prospects in the transformation and upgrading of the global backbone network in the future. Currently, G.654 fiber solutions have been used in the trunk construction of Hami-Barkol and Jinan-Qingdao of China Unicom , and will soon be used for the upcoming Beijing-Nanjing route construction of China Mobile.
