正確版本：”I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States.”
錯誤版本：”I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will execute the office of President of the United States faithfully, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States.”
中文譯文：「我，巴拉克．侯賽因．奧巴馬，謹莊嚴宣誓，我必忠實執行合眾國總統職務，竭盡全力，恪守、維護和捍衛合眾國憲法。」
註：自前總統喬治．華盛頓後，歷屆總統還會加上一句：「願主保佑(So help me God)。」
