圖說香江：美利樓，約1915年

　位於下環（灣仔）金鐘道（1970年前為皇后大道東）與花園道間的美利軍營內，落成於1846年。

　金鐘道上還有域多利軍營（現太古廣場）、威靈頓軍營(現統一中心和夏愨花園)及海軍船塢（現力寶中心一帶）。1959年，英軍撤離此地段，政府予以發展，並開闢夏愨道。

　美利樓於1960年代為「差餉物業估價署」。1982年，美利樓著手遷往赤柱，原址興建中銀大廈。

Murray House, c. 1915

　It was situated in the Murray Barrack which was at the junction of Queensway and Garden Road. It was completed in 1846.

　In Queensway, there were also Victoria Barracks (today's Pacific Place), Wellington Barracks (United Centre and Harcourt Garden) and Naval Dockyard (Lippo Tower). After the army withdrew from this area in 1959, the Government started to develop and constructed Harcourt Road.

　Murray House then became the office of Rating & Valuation Department. In 1982, the office had been moved to Stanley. And the Bank of China Tower was built on the site.
