St. Paul's College, established in 1851, was the first school in Hong Kong founded by Hong Kong Anglican (Episcopal) Church. John Fryer, who worked as a translator at Shanghai's Jiangnan Arsenal, was the school principal from 1861 to 1863. Wu Ting-fang, Hong Kong's first Chinese Legislative councillor, was a student of the school. Bilingual schools as such, groomed a new generation of Chinese elite both for Shanghai and Hong Kong. 資料:香港歷史博物館
