一代 「流行曲之王」(King of Pop)米高積遜(Michael Jackson)猝然離世，他的樂迷震驚之餘也無限痛惜。新力(Sony)總裁侯活史卓加爵士 (Sir Howard Stringer)這樣說：

音樂舞蹈顯熱情創意
「米高積遜是這一代出色的『抒情詩人』、一位天才。他的音樂反映了這年代的熱情和創意。他的才藝和魅力永遠地改變了音樂的領域。我們深受他的原創性、創意和神奇的作品影響。」
米高積遜的確是一個奇才，他的舞蹈別創一格，出神入化的「月步」(Moonwalk)瘋魔全球樂迷和舞者，大家爭相模仿和學習。在舞台上，米高積遜完全忘我，由心而發的表演，跳出美妙而帶着瘋狂的舞步，堪稱一絕。
大家也愛米高積遜的歌，13首曾打入流行榜首位，13次奪得「格林美」大獎，獲得多次健力士世界紀錄，其中一項是「歷史上最成功的表演者」之一。他的唱片全球售出7億5千萬張，最為樂迷喜愛的有“Billie Jean”,“Beat it”,“Bad”和“I Just Can't stop loving you”等。
筆者較為喜愛米高積遜於85年與Lionel Richie合力創作的“We Are The World”。45位歌手為非洲的飢民籌款，出版專輯，演藝界此類活動亦蔚為風氣。“We Are The World”的歌詞，亦成為慈善籌款活動的藍本，概念經常被借用。聽這精簡的訊息，用精練的文字唱出心聲：
“We are the world. We are the children. We are the ones who make a brighter day. So let's start giving.”
唱出人間有情 信團結可改厄運
歌者唱出人間有情，只要相信團結的力量，便能改變厄運：“When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all. But if you just believe there's no way we can fall. Well,well,well, let us realize that a change can only come when we stand as one.”
另一首獻給911受害者的歌“What More Can I Give”也是米高積遜愛的訊息。聽聽歌詞：“How many people would have to die before we understand ? How many children have to cry, before we do all we can? If sending your love is all you can give, that we all live. What have I got that I can give? What have I got that I can give? To love and to conceal you. To hold and to need you. What more can I give?”
筆者最愛的還是“Man in the Mirror”和“Heal The World”。米高說「要改變世界，由鏡中人(即自己)先開始」：“I'm starting with The Man In The Mirror. I'm asking him to change his ways and no message could have been any clearer if you wanna make the world a better place. Take a look at yourself and then make a change. Then make a change. ”米高的人道精神於他的近作“Heal The World”表露無遺：“ Heal the world. Make it a better place for you and for me and the entire human race. There are people dying. If you care enough for the living, make a better place for you and me.”
米高積遜去了！但他的歌和舞將永留人間，樂迷長記心中！
