圖左是落成於1869年的第一代大會堂，於1933年拆卸，部分地區給予滙豐銀行擴建，其餘在1951年建成中國銀行大廈。
圖右是落成於1912年的高等法院，它在1980年中改建為立法會。
電車背後是在1902年落成的太子行，它於1960年代中重建。圖中的樓宇現為東亞銀行。
Des Voeux Road Central, C.1913
On the left, there was the first generation of the City Hall, which was completed in 1869 and demolished in 1933. The HSBC and the Bank of China were constructed on the site.
On the right, there is the Supreme Court which was completed in 1912. The building was changed to the Legco Building in the mid-1980s.
At the back of the tram was the first Prince Building, which was rebuilt in the mid-1960s. The house in the middle becomes today's Bank of East Asia. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館榮譽顧問
