百家衣坎肩 19世紀
"Hundred households" waistcoat 19th century
這件坎肩繡上色彩繽紛的菱格，看似無數立方體拼湊在一起，富立體感，外觀有如百家衣。每一個菱格以金線作輪廓再繡上吉祥圖案，包括象徵福疊長壽的蝴蝶、代表「花開富貴」的花卉，及象徵「多子」的瓜果。
The variegated lozenges embroidered on this waistcoat create numerous juxtaposing cubes with strong three-dimensionality. The design gives the waistcoat the appearance of a baijiayi, "hundred households garment". Each lozenge is further embroidered with a propitious motif outlined with gold threads. Among these motifs are butterflies symbolising longevity, blooming flowers representing wealth and honour, and seedy melons and fruits alluding to fecundity.
