■要說「各國關係」，可以用relations among nations。資料圖片當提及到人與人之間的「關係」時，我相信大部分人都能有信心地用到 relationship 一詞去表達。
例如用the relationship between a couple表示戀人關係，或者用the relationship within a family表示家人之間的關係。
Relation正式 Relationship通俗
但每當學生用英語提及到其他東西之間的「關係」時，他們都會掙扎用relationship還是relation一詞。其實，relationship和relation都解作「關係」，很多時候都可以互通。Relationship多指示兩者之間的關係，比較多用於情感上或社交上的關係，用法較通俗。
而relation則多指示兩者之間的關連，比較多用於工作上或正式的關係上，如international relations（國際關係）等等。以下就用不同情況作分析：
有時可互通
人與人之間的關係可用relationship或relations（注意：多用眾數）。前者較普遍，後者指較正式的關係：
The relations between human resources managers and workers are generally good in this company.
在這間公司，人力資源部經理與員工的關係整體上是好的。（所提及的關係比較正式，尤其關乎勞資關係）
He has a close relationship with his teachers.
他與老師們的關係非常親密。（所提及的關係比較親密）
物與物之間的關係可隨意用relationship或relation（單數或眾數）：
There is a causal relationship/ relation between economic stress and domestic violence.
經濟壓力與家庭暴力有因果關係。
某指定關係常用relation（必須用眾數），如public relations（公共關係）、labour relations（勞資關係）、race relations（種族關係）、international relations（國際關係）、diplomatic relations（外交關係）等等。
