她雖然盛裝打扮，
但在飄搖時與你們在一起。
At sixes and sevens是混亂處境
At sixes and sevens的意思是混亂、無秩序和艱難的處境。除了用來描述處境之外，也可以描述人的心境。
The chairman was at sixes and sevens over the issue of cutting cost.
在減省開支的問題上，主席的內心七上八下，拿不定主意。
原來數字亦可組成有趣的用語。
例如put two and two together，意思是把事情拼湊起，猜想到真相。
He put two and two together and came to believe that the files were stolen.
他把事情一件一件拼湊起來，開始相信有人偷了他的檔案。
in ones and twos意指一小批
又例如1和2，有這樣一個短語 in ones and twos，意思指一小批：
The fans were leaving in ones and twos after the game.
球賽完結了，球迷三三兩兩地離場。
In ones and twos指一小批，並不真的是一兩個人，可以是三五個人一起。
six feet under指「百年歸老」
關於數字6，有一個短語是six feet under。一套外國電視劇便是以此為名。此語的意思是「百年歸老」，是一句幽默戲謔的話。
It will be another 50 years for the leasehold to expire. You will be six feet under by then.
地契還有50年才到期，到時你已經百年歸老矣。
the eleventh hour即是最後一刻
跳至數字11。新聞報道偶爾會提到第11小時才達成協議，the eleventh hour其實即是最後一刻。
After long hours of negotiation, the two parties struck a deal at the eleventh hour.
經過長時間談判，雙方在最後一刻終於達成協議。
The two governments reached an eleventh-hour agreement.
兩地政府在最後一刻達成協議。
