1. The first assent of Mount Everest took place in 1953.
2. The government collided with the businessmen to safeguard their own interests.
3. The acts of some movie stars could deprive young children.
4. She expanded all her efforts on slimming programmes.
5. Do you have any farther questions ?
第一句用錯的字是“assent”,解作「同意」,舉例說:“ She nodded her assent.
The bus collided with the taxi.
錯用了“deprive”,便指「剝奪」,舉例說:“They deprive their citizens of their basic rights.”
第四句應為“expended”(花費),把“e”誤寫為“a”,“expanded”指「擴大」或「膨脹」,例句如:Metals expand when heated.
Australia is farther away from us than Macau.
1. The cat was humanly destroyed.
2. It is ingenious to believe the government will change their stance.
3. We need an independent body to meditate in the dispute.
(Key : 1. humanly > humanely 2. ingenious > ingenuous 3. meditate > mediate)
