在高原省份雲南的溝壑峻嶺間，目前有8,000多所學校屬於「一師一校」教點，即一所學校只有一名教師「一腳踢」。這些校點都是農村孩子接受教育啟蒙的唯一希望。
尋甸回族彝族自治縣距離雲南省會昆明80多公里，山區、高寒山區佔其總面積的87.5%，特殊的地理條件使得村落布局分散，村與村之間相隔10多公里至幾十公里，集中辦學較為困難。
六哨鄉糯谷小學40多平方米的課室裡，容納了學前班和二年級的32名學生。他們均來自彝族，入學前幾乎不會說漢語，因此教師李貴明上課時須先用彝語講解一遍，接着再用漢語講述。這位30出頭的年輕老師，1999年從雲南省宣威師範學校畢業後，便回到家鄉糯谷下村執教。他一人承擔了語文、數學、音樂、美術、體育等10門課程的教學，「我想讓家鄉的孩子得到更專業的教育」。
倪興澤老師所在的朵噶小學位於一座大山的山巔上，兩個月前才接通了電，上月底剛有了自來水。在過去的10年裡，瘦小的倪興澤要走半小時山路去為學生背水，一次背25公斤、每天背3次，這些工作要在早晨7點半前完成，「天一亮，村民的牛羊上山，水會被攪渾」。現在面對有水有電的學校生活，他十分興奮，「最希望能有一台錄音機，每周一升國旗時可以用來播放國歌；如果再有一台電視機，就能給孩子看看外面的世界！」
One-teacher schools : Yunnan children's hope of education
Yunnan is a plateau province. Now, in the rugged terrain of Yunnan, more than 8,000 schools are the so-called one-teacher education points, which means there is only one teacher who does all the work for the school. These education points are very often the only hope for the children in the rural areas to have the first taste of education.
Xundian Hui and Yi Autonoumous County is more than 80 km from Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province. Hills and extremely cold mountains occupy 87.5% of its total area. The harsh geographical condition sustains only a sparse population with villages scattering all over the region. The villages are often tens of kilometers apart, so providing education to all children under one roof is very difficult.
Nuogu Primary School in Liushaoxiang covers barely an area of about 40 square metres,however, the classroom accommodates 32 pupils of pre-school and the primary 2 classes.These children are of the Yi ethnicity and they could hardly speak any Putonghua before they were admitted. Their teacher, Li Guiming, had to teach firstly in the Yi dialect and then again in Putonghua. Li is a young teacher in his early 30s. After graduating from the Yunnan Xuanwei College of Education in 1999, he immediately took up a teaching post in Nuogu, his hometown. He alone has to teach 10 subjects including Chinese language, mathematics, music, arts, physical education. "I wish the children in my hometown could have more formal education." he said.
Duoge Primary School, where Ni Xingze teaches, is situated on top of a huge mountain. Power line was connected to the school just two months ago and running water had only been available since last month. For the past 10 years, Ni, a skinny teacher, had to hike a trail for half an hour to fetch water for the pupils. He carried 25 kg of water each time and three times a day. All these had to be done every day before half past seven in the morning. "When the sun rises, the villagers herd their sheep and cows up the mountain and this would muddy the water." Ni explained. He is thrilled as now the school has water and electricity supply. "I really wish we had a tape recorder; with that, we could play the national anthem during the flag-raising ceremony every Monday. And if we had also a television set, we would then be able to let the children have a look of the outside world." he said. translated by 開明
