Hennessy Road, C.1950
Looking west from Canal Road, on the left was the Ying Nam Tea House, and on the right was the Tai Sam Yuen Restaurant which was famous for shark's fin dishes. The Tung Tak Pawn Shop located behind the 3rd tram still operates nowadays.
Canal Road was originally a canal constructed in 1850s. A little part of Hennessy Road in front of the Ying Nam Tea House, was the Bowrington Bridge which stretched across the canal. Nowadays, the vicinity of Bowrington Bridge has become a scenic spot of "Da Siu Yan", meaning to beat and scold a small paper puppet which represents one's foul opponent.
