Curiosity是名詞，指好奇心，來自形容詞 curious（好奇），即是對周圍的人或事不完全明瞭，但又很感興趣，想探個究竟。
People are often curious about the private life of celebrities.
人們總是對名人的私生活感到好奇。
He did the investigation out of curiosity.
他進行調查，完全出於好奇心。
Sometimes it may be difficult to satisfy the curiosity of small children.
有時候，小孩子的好奇心難以滿足。
多管閒事惹麻煩
英文諺語有Curiosity killed the cat，好奇害死貓，貓很好奇，不時因此惹禍遭殃，引伸意義就是多管閒事，惹禍上身。這句話用作勸告人不要對某些人或事尋根究底，少惹麻煩。
You should leave your neighbor alone. One day when you get into trouble, you will know that curiosity killed the cat.
你不應該干涉鄰居的事。終有一天，當你惹上麻煩，你就明白多管閒事只會惹禍上身。
Curiosity killed the cat. They'd better stop prying into other people's affairs.
好奇害死貓。他們應該停止探聽別人的事情。
好奇踏出新天地
不過，這諺語只是提醒人不要對他人的事太「八卦」，不要多管閒事，並不等於說好奇心不好，亦不是叫人不要有好奇心。
好奇心很多時是推動人們前進的動力，很多發明和意念都由好奇心而來。成功的科學家愛因斯坦和傑出的創業家迪士尼都是具好奇心的人，他們曾經這樣評價好奇心：

好奇心會不會害死貓，難下定論，因為貓兒其實也很警覺，有甚麼風吹草動，牠們都會避之則吉。不過，沒有好奇心，就肯定會停滯不前，因為尋真相、求知識，需要很大的好奇心驅使。■Lina CHU
