雖然在過去老師可能都告訴你，你應該避免在你的文章中重複用相同的詞語。其實重複的關鍵詞（key words）可以提高你的文章的凝聚力。以下是關於重複關鍵詞如何有助提醒讀者文章的中心思想的例子：
One reason for studying law is to help you deal with everyday issues. You may have encountered a bad landlord who refuses to fix the flooring and the air-conditioning in your rented flat. A little knowledge of law comes in handy in such a situation.
從上面的例子，關鍵詞「法律」（law）已經重複兩次，目的是提醒讀者文章重點。
同義詞避免單調重複
儘管如此，有些人可能會覺得經常重複使用key words，可能會讓讀者感到單調沉悶，我們應該怎麼處理這個問題？答案是應運用同義詞。
Here are some tips to help improve your performance in exams. One method is to read the questions carefully before you start answering the questions. A second technique is that you should manage your time well. Nothing is more disastrous than not being able to finish the whole exam paper within the given time. A third, time-tested, way is always to avoid last minute cramming.
